One of the many special activities organised during the second short-term exchange of groups of pupils hosted by the partner school Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) between May 13th and 17th, 2019, was taking part in a traditional crafts workshop. The pupils from all partner countries and even the teachers had the chance to try out three traditional Turkish handicrafts, namely decorating pottery, weaving carpets on vertical looms, and Ebru painting, known as paper marbling. They were instructed by the talented members of the club “Art heritage” from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) who helped them with demonstrations and advice. The setting was a beautiful exhibition showcasing the works of art created by the Turkish pupils from November 2018 to May 2019. The activity allowed the participating pupils to demonstrate their artistic talent, develop their practical skills and become acquainted with Turkish crafts and traditions.
