“We cannot stop natural disasters, but we can arm ourselves with knowledge: so many lives wouldn’t have to be lost if there was enough disaster preparedness.” These words of Czech model, television host and philanthropist Petra Němcová inspired the members of the club “Nature Wonders” from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) to mark International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, and create a PowerPoint presentation in order to raise awareness of the destructive impact of disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis.
