In December 2018, the members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from all the partner schools prepared performances celebrating Christmas, New Year’s Eve or other winter holidays.

The pupils from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) delight us with four performances related to the celebration of winter holidays. The first performance is “Rugă către Pruncul Iisus” (“Prayer to the Infant Jesus”), text by the folk band “Ai lui Ștefan, noi oșteni”, recited by the pupil Denisa Ștefănucă during the charitable event “Christmas Story” organised by our school. Next, all the pupils from the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” (Denisa Ștefănucă, Rianna Corduneanu, Alina Aghitoaie, Lorena Zaiț, Adelina Ștefan and Louisa Anița) sing the folk revival Christmas song “Galbenă gutuie” (“Yellow Quince”), lyrics by the great Romanian poet Adrian Păunescu and music by Nica Zaharia. The third performance is dancing to the Christmas song “Jingle Bell Rock” sang by the cast from the TV series “Glee”. The girls from the “It’s us! – songs and dances” finish their celebration by singing the chorus from the beloved Christmas carol “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.

The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Istituto Comprensivo “Giovanni Pierluigi” Palestrina from Palestrina (Italy) prepared two traditional Italian Christmas songs called “La notte di Natale” and “Quanno nascette Ninno”.

The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances”, helped by other pupils from Rīgas 22. vidusskola from Rīga (Latvia), performed a New Year song.

The pupils from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) researched winter holiday rituals and performed the traditional folk song “Kış Masalı”. You can see their recording here:
