In May 2019, the clubs “It’s us! – songs and dances” from all the partner schools worked on the topic “Dance lesson”, aiming to promote folk heritage from the partner countries and respect for cultural diversity.

The members of the club from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) took part in a very stimulating dance lesson at the Children’s Palace in Suceava. Instructed by Ms Mirela Duminică, the girls danced to five songs belonging to various music genres, becoming acquainted with new dancing styles and moves. The recordings were gathered in a video product called “Dance lesson”.

The members of the club from Rīgas 22. vidusskola from Rīga (Latvia) visited Bauskas castle, where they become acquainted with medieval fashion and dances. They also took part in a medieval music concert organised by their school.

The pupils from Istituto Comprensivo “Giovanni Pierluigi” Palestrina from Palestrina (Italy) recorded a dance lesson about the traditional dance “Vinca”.

The pupils from Agrupamento de Escolas de Samora Correia from Samora Correia (Portugal) created a PowerPoint presentation.

The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) were involved in organising the second exchange visit of the project hosted by their school by creating a PowerPoint presentation about the Turkish folk dance “Zeybek” and also by performing this dance during the show recreating ancestral rituals from all partner countries.

Activities carried out in May 2019
