In September 2020, the members of the “The magical world of fairy tales” clubs from the partner schools prepared for the last exchange visit of the project, scheduled to be organised online in October 2020 by the school from Dumbrăveni (Romania).
The pupils from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) were first informed about the character Nasreddin Hodja and his anecdotes. During their second meeting, they performed a dramatization on this topic, in order to present it during the online exchange visit.
The members of the club “The magical world of fairy tales” from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) prepared and recorded a dramatization based on the fairy tale “The Mother-in-Law with Three Daughters-in-Law” by the Romanian writer Ion Creangă.
The members of the club “The magical world of fairy tales” from the partner school Rīgas 22. vidusskola from Rīga (Latvia) carried out research on the topic of fabulous characters in Latvian fairy tales and created a PowerPoint presentation.
They also visited the Andrei Pumpura Museum. Founded in 1970, this museum is dedicated to the author of the Latvian folk epic “Lacplesis”, Andrei Pumpura. Young visitors to the museum can dress up in the costumes of epic heroes and even act out scenes from the epic. Here you can also learn the secrets of the Lielvarde belt – more precisely, find out what exactly constitutes its secrets, and not unravel these mysterious letters. Traditionally, about 5-10 cm wide and up to 270 cm long, the Lielvarde belt is decorated with complex geometric patterns (up to 22 different combinations). The Lielvarde belt is considered one of the symbols of Latvian culture, along with such symbols as Auseklis, and is included in the Cultural Canon of Latvia.
Note: Starting from March 2020, the activities of the project clubs from all the partner countries were carried out mainly online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
