In March 2019, the clubs “The whisper of the past builds up the future” from all the partner schools worked on the topic “Roots: short history of my hometown”, aiming to promote the cultural heritage from all the partners’ hometowns, enhance pupils’ ICT abilities and foster teamwork skills.
The members of the club from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) explored the roots of their hometown through a series of interesting activities. They turned into young reports and interviewed the mayor, Mr Ioan Pavăl, and the town clerk, the retired history teacher Ms Rodica Aparaschivei, war veterans and other elderly persons, using the precious information they had gathered to write a short history and draw a map of Dumbrăveni. Eager to share their knowledge, the pupils organised a workshop, inviting their classmates. The meeting started with an energiser, and then all the participants worked in teams to create a collage and a mind map on the topic of their hometown.
The pupils from Istituto Comprensivo “Giovanni Pierluigi” Palestrina from Palestrina (Italy) researched the topic and created projects for leaflets for the knowledge and the promotion of Palestrina.
The pupils from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) were first informed about the topic “Roots: short history of my hometown” and then they researched attractive tourist places from partner countries, and they prepared posters and a PowerPoint presentation.
The club “The whisper of the past builds up the future” from Agrupamento de Escolas de Samora Correia from Samora Correia (Portugal) created a PowerPoint presentation, having as purposes promoting their home region and town as attractive tourist destinations and adding new materials to the collection “Beyond the borders”.
The members of the club “The whisper of the past builds up the future” from Rīgas 22. vidusskola from Rīga (Latvia) visited the Riga Art Nouveau Museum, the only museum in the Baltic States dedicated to the Art Nouveau heritage.
