In June 2019, the members of the club “Art heritage” from Agrupamento de Escolas de Samora Correia from Samora Correia (Portugal) continued their work on drawings and paintings.
The pupils from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) created cheerful drawings illustrating the world of childhood on the occasion of International Children’s Day. On June 24th, they were involved in various cultural events organised in the town of Suceava, as this day holds a quadruple significance for local people: the religious holidays dedicated to St. John the Baptist and St. John the New of Suceava, the folk holiday of Sânzâine, the Day of Suceava and the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse. They took part in creative workshops organised at the “Princely Inn” Ethnographic Museum of Suceava, during which they made wreaths of wild golden flowers called “sânzâine” in Romanian (lady’s bedstraw) and painted little ceramic houses. They also watched a show featuring folk traditions, visited the exhibition of ethnographic adornments from the museum and the fair from the town centre.
In June 2019, the members of the club “Art heritage” from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) were first informed about the topic “Carpet weaving” and then they learnt how to weave on vertical looms and used their new skills to weave a beautiful carpet.
