In January 2019, the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Istituto Comprensivo “Giovanni Pierluigi” Palestrina from Palestrina (Italy) worked on: traditional and folk songs of central Italy and their geographical area called “stornelli” and “canzoni”, traditional and folk dances of northern Italy, namely “Vinca” and “Saltarello Romagnolo”, traditional and folk dances of southern Italy, namely “La Gatta Cenerentola” and a dance to the song “Roma nun fa la stupida stasera”.
To mark the double celebration of the birthday of Romania’s iconic poet, and National Culture Day (January 15th), the girls from the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) researched the works of Mihai Eminescu and performed fragments from two of his poems set to music, “One Wish Alone Have I” and “Down Where the Lonely Poplars Grow”.
The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) received information about the topic of folk heritage and during their second meeting they rehearsed and performed the traditional folk dance called “Zeybek”.
The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Agrupamento de Escolas de Samora Correia from Samora Correia (Portugal) took part in a show and entertained the audience with four performances which were recorded.
