In February 2019, the girls from the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) researched the significance of Dragobete, an ancient Romanian holiday dedicated to love and a local equivalent to St. Valentine’s day, celebrated on February 24th. They also prepared a dance on the song “Când eu iubesc” (“When I’m in love”) by the Moldovan singer Lia Taburcean.
The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Istituto Comprensivo “Giovanni Pierluigi” Palestrina from Palestrina (Italy) continued their work on traditional and folk songs of central Italy and their geographical area called “stornelli” and “canzoni”, traditional and folk dances of northern Italy, namely “Vinca” and “Saltarello Romagnolo”, traditional and folk dances of southern Italy, namely “La Gatta Cenerentola” and a dance to the song “Roma nun fa la stupida stasera”.
The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) also continued their work on the topic of folk heritage, rehearsing and performing the traditional folk dance called “Zeybek”.
The members of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Rīgas 22. vidusskola from Rīga (Latvia) researched the life and work of the German composer Richard Wagner who lived in Riga from 1837 to 1839. They went on a tour around the city, walking along the Wagner Route called “Wagneriga”, and then prepared a PowerPoint presentation on the topic “Richard Wagner in Riga”.
The meetings of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances” from Agrupamento de Escolas de Samora Correia from Samora Correia (Portugal) had as propose enriching pupils’ knowledge about folk and songs heritage and during the meetings they created two records.
