An important part of our project is giving pupils the opportunity to communicate with children their age from other European countries. The exchange of greeting cards on the occasion of Christmas/New Year and Easter to be organised within the project fosters intercultural communication, and also the development of creativity and originality among pupils. In December 2018, the members of the club “Art heritage” from all partner school created handmade cards which were sent by post. Then, each partner school organised exhibitions displaying the greeting cards they had received from foreign peers.
The members of the club “Art heritage” from Istituto Comprensivo “Giovanni Pierluigi” Palestrina from Palestrina (Italy) prepared many handmade greeting cards with drawings and wishes for Christmas or the New Year which were then sent to the partner schools.
The pupils from the club “Art heritage” from Liceul Tehnologic ”Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania) were very hard-working in December 2018. First, they created and presented collages about Romanian legends and traditions associated with Saint Andrew and Saint Nicholas. They also created 30 handmade greeting cards for Christmas and/or New Year that were sent to the other four partner schools, and then everybody delighted in reading the cards received from abroad in our first heart-warming exchange. The winter holidays were also marked by making very creative decorations and hanging them in our very own Erasmus+ Christmas tree, and also other various handmade products for the Christmas Fair organised by our school in order to raise money for charity.
The club “Art heritage” from Şehit Ali Aksoy Ortaokulu from Akhisar (Turkey) found out information about the traditions associated with the New Year and created handmade greeting cards that were sent to the partner schools together with sweets made of the famous Manisa’s Mesir Paste.
