The hot days of summer were rich in activities for the pupils and teachers from the project team from Liceul Tehnologic “Mihai Eminescu” Dumbrăveni (Romania).
On June 13th, the members of all clubs who are interested in martial arts had the opportunity to attend a fun session of training and exercising organised at the Sports Centre from Dumbrăveni.
While the holiday was in full swing, the pupils from the club “Nature wonders” continued their exploration of natural heritage through a trip to the Vânători – Neamț Natural Park (Neamț County). They were particularly impressed by the “Dragoș Vodă” Reserve which houses one of the largest populations of European bison in the world, as well as many other species living in the Carpathian area.
The members of the club “The whisper of the past builds up the future” began their research on historical monuments with a trip to the Neamț Fortress (Neamț County). Built in the 14th century, during the reign of Petru I Mușat, this impressive stronghold played a key role in the defence system of medieval Moldavia.
The Summer School “Hand to hand – communication, games and colours”, organised in our school between August 26th and 31st, and which involved 46 pupils and 9 teachers, was a great opportunity to disseminate the project and share the skills acquired by the members of the clubs.
The pupils from the club “Art heritage”, coordinated by Ms Rica Șorodoc and Ms Niculina Pintilii, presented details about the project activities and products in the friendly setting of the school library. They also taught other schoolmates the techniques of making bookmarks by sewing traditional folk motifs and creating ornamental objects by wrapping bottles in twine.
The coaching and mentoring activities continued through a workshop called “The play of colours on water”, aiming to disseminate the Ebru painting technique, which the members of the club had learnt during the exchange visit to the partner school from Akhisar (Turkey).
The pupils from the club “The magical world of fairy tales” talked about the activities carried out within the project during the workshop “The role of fairy tales in our childhood” organised by our school librarian, Ms Oana Bolocan and by Ms Niculina Pintilii. They also prepared a nice surprise for their colleague Amalia Musteață, and offered her a stack of books and a model representing a modern fairy tale.
Ms Mihaela Dranca, the coordinator of the club “It’s us! – songs and dances”, contributed to the Summer School “Hand to hand – communication, games and colours” by organising activities promoting the development of assertiveness and interpersonal skills.
The project coordinator, Ms Niculina Pintilii, and two other members of the project team, Ms Andreea Onișoru and Ms Simona Iavni, also involved pupils in creative workshops, childhood games and sport competitions. The aims of these joyful activities were improving communication, teamwork, solidarity, tolerance and social inclusion among pupils, making everybody feel important and valuable.
